Sewing Seeds has expanded their Calgary “Masks Made With Love” initiative forward into the countries where we have schools or manufacturing initiatives already in place. In addition to supporting our volunteer team in Calgary with materials and direction, we are providing technical and financial support to Puerto Vallarta, Ukraine, Sierra Leone, Guatemala and Haiti. Watch for updates.

“The Haitian government has made wearing masks in public mandatory so we are hoping to ramp up our mask making production to 5000” say Lisa and Marc Honorat of Haiti Arise.  “Part of our task is educating people on the importance and effectiveness of masks.”

Art Fumerton of the Mexican Volcanes project, reports “All schools in Jalisco and Puerto Vallarta were closed at the end of March, including our Volcanes Sewing School and Workshop. Shortly
after that a team started sewing face masks and are producing about 600 face masks per week.”

We are so proud of the efforts made by our Ukraine Sewing School. They have used our resources to make countless masks in efforts to keep their people safe. These photo updates were sent to us along with a message of Hope "Together we will defeat COVID-19"
