This May, we are launching a new Sewing Seeds project in Durrës, Albania, a coastal city of over 175,000 people where women make up more than half of the population and many face limited economic opportunity.

In urban areas like Durrës, the risk of poverty is higher than in many parts of Europe, and women often encounter barriers to full economic inclusion despite strong education rates and entrepreneurial spirit.

While women represent nearly half of Albania’s workforce, they are still underrepresented in higher-paying jobs and larger leadership roles, and income gaps persist. Strengthening women’s skills and income-generating opportunities isn’t just right, it’s essential for community well-being.

Because of partners like you, this new beginning in Durres is possible. Together, we are not just teaching sewing; we are helping women gain skills, restore dignity, and build a more secure future for their families.
