An Evening That Helps Us Grow
Why the Sewing Seeds Gala Matters
There is something powerful about gathering around a table. We gather to share a meal, to tell stories, to laugh, to remember, and to give thanks. And sometimes, we gather because we know that what we can accomplish together is far greater than what any one of us can do alone.
That is the heart behind the Sewing Seeds Thankful Gala Dinner on October 8, 2026.
This evening is about gratitude — gratitude for the women, children, teachers, volunteers, partners, and donors who have become part of the Sewing Seeds story. But it is also about looking forward.
Sewing Seeds Canada has always believed in creating opportunities that can continue long after a training team leaves. A sewing class can teach a skill. But that skill can become a source of income. A sponsorship can help a child attend school. But education can open doors for an entire future. A summer camp can give a child a week of safety and joy. But that experience can remind a child that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
This is the kind of impact we want to continue building, long-term, sustainable change rather than simply meeting a need for today.
And that requires a strong foundation.
Why Your Support Matters
The work of Sewing Seeds is made possible because people choose to invest in it.
Donors make programs possible.
Volunteers give their time and skills.
Teachers share what they know.
Prayer partners faithfully carry the work.
Local partners help us understand and serve their communities well.
Every person has a part to play. Our Gala is one of the ways we bring this community together and raise the funds needed to continue that work. The funds raised help Sewing Seeds maintain and expand programs, support training and equipment, develop new partnerships, and respond when new opportunities arise.
This year alone, we've had the privilege of stepping into a new project in Albania, returning to Uganda, continuing our child sponsorship work in Sierra Leone, and supporting summer camp opportunities for children in Ukraine.
There is still so much to do. And we want to be ready for what comes next.
Come Hear the Stories
On October 8, we'll share stories from the places and people behind the Sewing Seeds mission.
You'll hear about what our team experienced in Albania and Uganda. You'll learn more about the children and families being supported through our programs. And you'll see how the generosity of this community becomes something tangible in the lives of others.
Because sometimes the best way to understand impact is to hear the story of a person whose life is changing.
A Table Full of Gratitude
The name Thankful was chosen intentionally.
We aren't gathering because everything is finished.
We're gathering because there is so much to be thankful for, and because we believe there is still so much ahead.
We are thankful for every person who has sat down at a sewing machine and discovered a new skill.
We are thankful for every child who has been given the opportunity to learn.
We are thankful for every teacher who has said yes to going.
We are thankful for every volunteer who has quietly done the work behind the scenes.
And we are thankful for every donor who has trusted Sewing Seeds with their generosity.
You are part of the future of this organization.
When you purchase a ticket, invite a friend, sponsor a table, or make a gift at the Gala, you aren't simply supporting an evening.
You are helping build the foundation for what comes next.
